Table Border

Table border can add great beauty to your page if it is used carefully. It also serves lot of purpose to arrange the text matter in a structured format. It applies the border around the text and gives the personality to the paragraph. Its a very useful table property if its used with skill and at the right place. Sometimes you may find table borders used in the gallery page where table is decorated with colored border and given different look using cell spacing.

Insert the table using 1 pixel border thickness with the following parameter for the other attributes.

This will give following output in the browser. You get that gray colored border by default.

You can not apply border color while you insert the table. You have to select the table after inserting it on the page and then change the border color using properties. Now select the table. Once you select it you will find lot of table attribute that you can change according to your requirements. We will apply some color to table border.

Now we will increase border thickness to 7 and add cell spacing to 7. We get some interesting result with these settings.

You can use table border for gallery or even sometimes to insert the text with different colored background. The choice of table border and its color depend on the subject of the site. Its good for the gallery but it will also add the beauty if its used with proper care for text.

In the following example we have used table with colored border and text with some cell padding and cell spacing. If you are using background color for the cells then you better use contrast color for the text so that it will stand out on the background. We have used different color for each cell.

Another interesting feature is available there for the cell border that can be applied to get beautiful effect. The cell border can have different color that is available in the property when you place the cursor inside the cell while applying cell color. We have applied different color for the cell border.

There can be lots of combinations available for table decoration if the border color, thickness, cell border and cell color is used properly. It is still a useful property of the table that can make the data stand out in your web page. Overdoing something is always a problem hence try is with careful hand. Experiment with it.
