Hair Color

Concept: Changing black and white photograph into color can be interesting as well as challenging. Try to be thorough with hue/saturation , color balance and blending mode command. Adobe Photoshop selection techniques are the basic for all types of photo retouching. You must be able to select the proper selection tool that will select the precise area of the image without spending much of a time. The color applied must look realistic.

1. Open Photoshop. Open the image to apply hair color.

2. We will select hairs to apply color. We have used Quick Mask Mode for proper selection. Learn Quick Mask Mode Basics if you do not know the procedure.

3. Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Color Balance

Click Ok. It will bring Color Balance box. Change the values as given in the following figure.

4. You can try different value to change the color. Learn how to create similar effect using Hue/Saturation.
